Yuxuan Cao

I am a second-year Ph.D. student in Computer Science at HKUST, supervised by Prof. Junxian He. Previously, I received my master’s degree in Computer Science and Technology from Zhejiang University, advised by Prof. Yang Yang and Prof. Jiarong Xu. I also collaborated with Prof. Carl Yang on data-centric machine learning.

I want to understand how data gives rise to new capabilities—and how increasingly capable AI systems can create the data they need to improve further. I am particularly interested in physical intelligence, where agents learn through interaction and turn their experience into useful capabilities in the real world.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking and writing. I’m an avid fan of Khalil Fong, an exceptional artist and musician. I also play in a band called 'ANS' with my friends. I am interested in cognitive science, cosmology, and metaphysics, with a particular focus on exploring the interconnections between their underlying principles.
